Dirty Duds

Dear Cassie,

My bestie loves to borrow my clothes. But everytime she gives them back, they have stains on them. It drives me crazy! I'm kinda quiet, so I don't know how to handle this situation. Help?

Dear Helen,

That's very nice of you to lend your clothes to your bestie. But it's not very nice of her to return them damaged. Anytime I borrow something, I wash it and have it looking so great before I return it. Even though you're quiet, you can still say something to her and be heard. Maybe joke about it. Say something like "woah! did you go playing paint ball in my tee shirt? hey, just be more careful next time, okay?" She'll get the message. And ya know what? If she keeps returning items dirty, just start saying no. You'll have to muster up the guts to say "nope, practically everything in my wardrobe is stained because I let you borrow it, so sorry." If she's really your bestie, she'll totally understand.
