She is the Dancing Queen!!! Nov 26, 2008
All good things must come to an end! And last night, Brooke Burke and Derek Hough were crowned the winners of “Dancing with the stars”! For their last dance, she did a Viennese Waltz to John Mayer’s “Daughters”, where Brooke not only included her daughters in the routine, but they also managed to land 3 perfect 10’s!!! In second place was football player Warren Sapp, who just couldn’t get his scores high enough to take the win! And, of course to finish off the top 3, in third place was Lance Bass and his partner Lacey! Miley gave an amazing performance, with tons of flashing lights and a killer routine by the dancers!!! And until next season, the rest of us will of course be brushing up on our own dance routines and perfecting our technique! See ya in Season 8!!! (Photo: PR Photos)
We're Most Thankful For... Nov 26, 2008
The Jonas Brothers are getting into the Christmas spirit! Tomorrow the Jo Bro’s will be performing at half-time for the Dallas Cowboys vs. the Seattle Seahawks Thanksgiving Day Game!!! With their performance the guys are officially kicking off the season of giving and the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign. The Red Kettle Campaign sets up “red kettles” outside of shopping centers for donations that go to families that can’t afford presents or even daily needs, like clothing! Celebrities that have helped kick off this campaign in past are Kelly Clarkson, Jessica Simpson and Carrie Underwood, just to name a few!!! Make sure to watch tomorrow, and next time you see a Red Kettle, try to find some change to donate to others! Also, don’t forget to check out the Jonas Brothers’ new book, “Burning Up: On Tour with the Jonas Brothers”! It gives you the feeling of having an all access pass to check out what it’s really like on the road with the boys!!! Happy Birthday... Again!
Nov 25, 2008 Miley FINALLY celebrated her REAL birthday on Sunday! Yes it was the actual day of her birth…Not just another party! First she celebrated at the American Music Awards, where Taylor Swift, Julianne Hough, Jordan Sparks, and Ashley Tisdale surprised Miley with a small birthday party backstage including a cake! Then, her parents finally surprised her with their big birthday gift! What did they get the girl who already has pretty much everything?!? Her very own recording studio! Everyone was assuming that because it was her big sweet 16 that she would get a car, just like every other kid wishes on their 16th birthday! However, Miley says that she’s not quite ready for driving yet, and until she is, a car is just a pointless gift for her. As fans we couldn’t be more excited for her new present, this just means more music to look forward to from Miley!!! Good job Billy Ray and Tish!
It ain't Over 'til it's Over Nov 25, 2008
It’s all said and done! There’s nothing more that the cast of “Dancing with the Stars” can do to determine the outcome of tonight’s finale! Each couple got to perform their very own freestyle routines. So who do you think is going to take home the trophy? Will it be Lance and Lacey with their hip-hop routine? Brooke and Derek with their perfect 30? Or, Warren and Kym who rocked out to “Proud Mary”?!? We’ll have to watch tonight to find out! But that’s not the only thing worth tuning in for tonight! Of course there’s going to be a huge performance by Miley, where she’ll be singing her new single “Fly on the Wall”! Also, Miley lets us know that she thinks Brooke is going to take the championship! Alicia Keys will be performing tonight as well, but no word yet on who she’s pullin’ for or even which song she’s planning on singing! Guess we’re all going to have to keep ourselves busy today to distract ourselves from thinking about the show!
Top Dog!!! Nov 24, 2008
Who made it to number #1 this weekend in the box office? This may not come as a shock to you, but of course “Twilight” swept the competition this weekend making an estimated $70 million dollars! $35 million of that was from its opening day alone!!! “Twilight” not only came out on top, but also set some records this weekend, too! It’s forecasted to debut in the top 10 for the highest money making movies ever! And, it’s the top money making film ever directed by a woman! We want to congratulate Katherine Hardwicke, and say, you go girl!!! There was a lot of talk about “Twilight” never living up to the hype, but this weekend proved that it did all of that and more! “Bolt” came in 3rd place with about $27 million. We’re pretty sure that things will start looking up this week, when families go out for the traditional Thanksgiving movie!
The AMA Goes To... Nov 24, 2008
The “American Music Awards” were on television live last night from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles! The entire music world, and then some, showed up last night to perform, present and support the biggest names in music this year. There were plenty of performances to go around including; Taylor Swift performing a song from her new CD, a duet from Sarah McLachlan and Pink, plus Rhianna, Miley, and of course it’s not an awards show without a performance from the Jonas Brothers!!! The biggest winner of the night was Chris Brown with 3 awards! But don’t worry! All of our favorites got awards too! Taylor Swift took home the award for Favorite Female Country Artist, Jordin Sparks won Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist, and the Jonas Brothers dominated the Favorite Breakthrough Artist Award, which was the only award to be decided by the fans! Congratulations to all of the winners!!! We’re looking forward to the next time we get to see this many great artists together in one place!
It's a Boy!!!
Nov 21, 2008 It’s a boy!!! Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are parents! Finally!!! It seems as if we’ve been waiting forever! Yesterday they welcomed a little boy - Bronx Mowgli Wentz - into their lives! Ashlee and Pete were married this past May and shortly after announced that Ashlee was pregnant. Since then, we’ve all been anxiously awaiting to find out if it would be a boy or girl, because the couple wasn’t telling! At birth, Bronx weighed 7 pounds 11 ounces and is very healthy! The name Mowgli comes from the lead character in The Jungle Book - she must really love that movie!!! Maybe she’ll even read the original book to her baby!? We can’t wait to see pictures! We wish Ashlee, Pete, and baby Bronx all the best!!! Congratulations!!!!

Chances are, if you love “Twilight”, you are probably a “Harry Potter” fan too, making this a bittersweet day for you. Today was supposed to be the release date of the next movie in the “Harry Potter” series, “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince”, but Warner Brothers pushed the release date back until July of 2009. That means we have to wait 8 more months! The worst part is that they released the trailer for the movie already, making us want to see it that much more!!! Fans were seriously upset about this and have started an online petition to get the movie released earlier!!! We’re hoping it works!!! “Harry Potter” isn’t quite done yet however, after the “Half-Blood Prince”, we have the final movies still in the works! We say “movies” because they have divided the final book of the series into two movies! Finally, enough film time to cover all of the things we loved about the book! “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1” is scheduled to be released in 2010. But this minor set back isn’t going to stop HP fans - we’ve got loads of stuff to be excited about!!! Thank goodness this weekend we at least have “Twilight”! It opens today in theaters, and though we know it’s a long time to wait for Harry, take a look on the bright side: we have 4 “Twilight” books to catch up on and a movie to see right now!
She's a Maniac, Maniac... Nov 20, 2008
We haven’t reported that much about Ashley Tisdale in a while, but that’s because she’s been working like a maniac!!! We’ve got lots of good stuff to look forward to from her. Right now she’s working on her second solo album, which she describes as “edgy and more rock”, and she also mentioned that she was hoping to release the album as soon as February!!! That’s just right around the corner! But that’s not all!!! She’s also starring in the new CGI and live-action movie “They Came from Upstairs”. It’s about a family that goes to their vacation home only to discover that it has been taken over by aliens! The film is set to be released in the summer of 2009. Think that’s it?!? Of course not!!! She’s in the process of working on a show for Disney that’s based on her life! She will, of course, be starring in the series, but she’s been named executive producer on the project as well! We knew she could sing…We knew she could act...We knew she could dance, but now she can produce as well?!? Talk about a triple threat…And then some! You go girl!
The Winner is...
Nov 20, 2008 The numbers are in!!! This week 2 huge teen superstars battled it out for the Billboard top spot! Taylor Swift and David Archuleta were neck in neck to see who sold the most albums in their first week in stores!!! So who do you think won the hearts of America?!? Was it really a “Love Story” for the girl who has all the boys swooning for her?!? Or was it the boy from “American Idol” who gave every girl in the world a “Crush”?!? Well, the numbers don’t lie!!! Taylor Swift took the top spot with her new album “Fearless”!!! But, before the tears start spilling all over your guitar, David came in a close second!!! We’re extremely proud of both of them, and wish them the best of luck in the future!!! Next week we’ll have to see if David Cook can do the same!!! We’re getting excited just thinking about it!!!

It’s a sad, sad day for Hannah Montana fans! In house hottie Cody Linley has been voted off “Dancing With the Stars”:(!!! Even though Cody put his all into his two dances this week - the Paso Doble and the Salsa - the judges just couldn’t find the technique they were looking for. On an even sadder note, tomorrow is Cody’s 19th birthday, and he said all he wanted was to make it to the finals:(! Who wants to be his shoulder to cry on?!?:) But, on the bright side, he can celebrate without the stress of the competition! And…Are you ready for this?!? Miley Cyrus will be performing her new single, “Fly on the Wall” next week on the finale of DWTS! So make sure to tune in next Monday when the finalists - Brooke Burke, Warren Sapp, and Lance Bass - get to dance a freestyle routine for the win, and Tuesday for the results show to watch Miley perform and to see who’s going to take it all for Season 7!!!

Exciting Movie News!!! A Disney classic, “Beauty and the Beast”, is going 3-D! Disney is going back to the original reels of film to match to the original design as closely as possible…Except this time, it will feel like you’re actually in the movie! No word yet on a specific release date, but we do know it will be out in 2010! Disney has announced that it will be releasing 10 more 3-D movies between 2009 and 2010, including “Toy Story”, “Toy Story 2”, and the all new movies “Toy Story 3”, “The Jonas Brothers 3-D Concert Movie”, and Tim Burton’s live-action “Alice in Wonderland”, just to name a few!!! We’ll be able to imagine that we’re flying with Buzz, hanging out with Belle, rockin’ with the Jo Bros, and dreaming with Alice! We can’t wait for it all to begin comin’ atcha!
Something's Cookin'!!
Nov 18, 2008 David Cook’s self-titled CD finally arrives today! We’re rushing out to pick it up - How about you?!? There are plenty of rockin’ songs to jam out to, a few ballads like the ones that won us over on “American Idol”, and of course the singles “Light On” and “Time of My Life” that have been keeping us happy up until now!!! David talked about how he’s been waiting for this moment his whole life, tho we’re pretty sure he’s got nothing to worry about! He also talked about getting a helping hand from some of his role models including Johnny Reznik of the Goo Goo Dolls and his personal hero, Raine Maida from the band Our Lady Peace. It’s sure to be amazing, so make sure you get out there to pick it up!!! And, don’t forget to keep picking up your copies of KEWL, too! Right now, we’ve got a contest going for a pair of Skull Candy headphones signed by David! And just this week, we had David sign a Gibson Guitar for a lucky winner in an upcoming issue of KEWL…but you’ll have to keep checking to see exactly which issue we give it away in!!!
Two Times the Fun!! Nov 18, 2008
Last night was a big night for two huge movie premieres!! “Bolt” and “Twilight” had of their premieres in Hollywood and both were huge star-studded events!!! One of our favorite celebrities, Miley Cyrus, who does the voice for Penny in the movie “Bolt”, showed up to the premiere along with John Travolta, Mitchel Musso, Michael Peterson, and Justin Martin! Of course, at the “Twilight” premiere all of the teen actors from the movie were on hand, along with some of our other favorites!!! Cast members Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Christian Serratos were there, as well as Alison Stoner, Jenny Garth, Brenda Song and Demi Lovato and just to name a few. Both movies open this Friday, so looks like a good night to do a double feature! But, looks like you’re on your own for deciding which one to see first!!! Good Luck!!

When you think of Hilary Duff, what comes to mind first?!? Lizzy McGuire of course!!! And it looks like Hilary is about to get back to acting again! Yep, Hilary has signed up to do another TV show of her very own, only this time, it’s on NBC!!! No word yet on what the show is about or what it will be called, but we’re just happy to have her back! Even though it may be a while before the show starts shooting, or even airs, Hilary has also agreed to do guest appearances on some of NBC’s other shows!!! Thank goodness we have something to hold us over! We can’t wait to see what she has in store for us! Meanwhile, you can check out Hilary’s new song “Reach Out” on her new greatest hits album!
Are You The Best?!? Nov 17, 2008
First, we had “So You Think You Can Dance”, and then we had “Dancing With the Stars”. Now, they’re creating a new show called “Superstar Dancers of the World”!!! This show will have dancers from 8 different countries competing to be the best in the world! What will make this dance competition show special, is that it will be showing all of the different cultural styles of dance from around the world! The show will be created by the same producers as “So You Think You Can Dance” and “American Idol”, so we know it’s going to be great. “Superstar Dancers” is supposed to air early in 2009, so we guess we’ll have to practice our own dance moves until then!!!
More Than We Could've Hoped!Nov 14, 2008 The first movie isn’t even out yet and we’ve got some great news for you!!! The producers of the Twilight movie are already making plans for the next 2 movies!!! They’ve hired a writer for the new movies, and they aren’t stopping there, they’re also looking for someone to write the 4th!!! Of course it’s going to take years for all the movies to be completed, but at least we know we have more to look forward to!!! What more could we ask for? Well… Twilight hunk Robert Pattinson has already signed on for the next 2 movies, so we know for sure he isn’t going anywhere soon! Thank goodness!!! The first movie comes out next Friday, and as for the others, we’re just going to have to let the books keep us busy until then!

We don’t want to say it but we have to… This Sunday TRL will be airing its final episode ever!!! We sure are going to miss it!!! Stars like Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, ‘Nsync, the Backstreet Boys, and Many more have TRL to thank for their success! This Sunday’s episode promises to be jam-packed full of performances, appearances and memories from many of the stars who have been on the show over the last 10 years! Carson Daly, the original host of the show, will also be coming back for one last time! It wouldn’t be TRL if we knew that there weren’t going to be any surprises, so we’ll have to tune in to find out exactly what! We’re excited for the big event, but we sure will miss the show:(

Don’t you hate it when you want to go on a ride at an amusement park, and then you have to wait FOREVER in line?!? Well, now you don’t have to!!! Verizon Wireless and Walt Disney parks have come up with a way to let you know – through your cell phone – how long the wait time is for each ride! You’ll never wait in line for hours and hours again!!! Hooray!! But wait - that’s not all! You’ll also be able to get information on all of the restaurants in the park, find just where the shows are happening, and even the exact locations of your favorite Disney characters!!! The Disney characters can also call your cell phone to say “Hey!” With all of this, you’ll be able to go on more rides, see more shows and more Disney characters, eat more food, and have loads more fun! Yay for More!
Big Night at the CMA's!!
Nov 13,2008 Last night on the Country Music Awards, there were big winners, records broken and a few disappointments. While Taylor Swift had the opportunity to perform, unfortunately she didn’t go home with any trophies! She’ll get ‘em next time! Another big performance was Carrie Underwood, who not only hosted the show with Brad Paisley, but she also sang and went home with the award for best female vocal! Good for you, Carrie!! George Straight set a new record last night with the most awards ever won. Last night he earned 4 more trophies, setting the new record at 22!! The old record was held by Brooks and Dunn, who had 19!! It was a great night in country and we’re already excited too see what happens for next year!!!

What’s the craziest thing you would do to be on an episode of Hannah Montana?!? Why don’t you ask Stephen Baldwin for some advice?!? Or not! Miley Cyrus dared the actor to get a tattoo of the initials HM – for Hannah Montana, of course! – and in return she would have him as a guest on her show. He wanted to be on the show so badly because his two daughters are huge fans, and that, of course, would make him the coolest dad in the entire world! The two met at the White House, which is where Miley set the dare! On Monday, Stephen was in Miley’s home town promoting a book he wrote, when Miley popped in to see if he had lived up to his end of the bargain! And, he sure did! We don’t think permanent branding is the way to go, but since Stephen followed through, we think Miley should definitely hold up her end of the bargain!
She Sure is Fearless!
Nov 12, 2008 Not only has she released a new CD, “Fearless”, that we’re sure is headed straight for the top of the charts, but teen country sensation Taylor Swift has also racked up a Country Music Award nomination (the show airs tonight on ABC!) , and received the Song of the Year at the BMI Country Awards! Wow, this girl’s got it going on! Her CD, which was released yesterday, has been given great reviews and her new album takes up the entire top 10 singles chart on iTunes! Talk about a dream come true! We think Taylor is going to be at the top for a long time to come!
Newest Hannah Stars?!?
Nov 11, 2008 What would you do if your dad just made history, and then a few days later you get offered to guest star on your favorite show? Well that’s what happened to Malia and Sasha Obama. Last Tuesday their father, Barack Obama, became the first African-American President, and this week his daughters were asked to make a special appearance on Hannah Montana! Talk about lucky! No word yet on what’ll happen in the episode or when it’s supposed to air, but we’re sure it’s going to be amazing! At least we’ll have the Hannah Montana movie to tide us over until then! The movie’s release date is set for April 10th, 2009. Can’t wait!
We've Got a Crush on David!
Nov 11, 2008 It’s here!!! David Archuleta finally releases his debut self- titled album today! We’ve already gotten a sneak peak of David’s style with his hit song “Crush”, which made it to number 2 on the singles chart! We have a feeling it’s only going to get better from here! With plenty of pop songs to groove to, and of course, the ballads that we can’t live without, his album is sure to win our hearts!! His CD is already getting good reviews with the critics, but we’ll just have to wait and see how the fans feel about it! We’re pretty sure he’ll have no problem with that!
A Big Weekend! Nov 10, 2008
If you thought the “High School Musical 3” box office numbers were big, check this out… “Madagascar 2: Escape to Africa” earned $63.5 million over the weekend, putting it right at the top of the list! “HSM 3” only earned $42 million in its opening weekend. This puts Madagascar 2 in the record books for the second biggest animated movie ever, just missing the number 1 spot which is being held by “The Incredibles!” Not bad! With the success of the movie, there are now talks of a “Madagascar 3”! We sure hope so! They’re saying that it wouldn’t be right not to have a movie that brings the crew back to where it all started, New York, and we couldn’t agree more!
More Heroes to Save the World!!
Nov 10, 2008 It looks like super hero movies aren’t going away anytime soon! There are talks about new movies in the works for two more of our favorite super heroes! Who is it, you might ask?!? Looks like Captain America and Wonder Woman may finally get their time to shine! Unfortunately it looks like we’re going to have to wait a while: Captain America isn’t looking at a release date until 2011, and Wonder Woman is still up for grabs! Two of the women they’re considering for the part are Beyonce and Megan Fox. What do you think? Who would make the best Wonder Woman out there? We just wish we had the super power of going ahead in time to find out, but we’re sure it’s going to be totally worth the wait!

Are you ready for this?!? iCarly is going to on a trip… to Japan! Tomorrow on Nickelodeon is the premiere of the new movie “iGo to Japan”! We can’t wait! Carly, Sam and Freddie head off to Asia for the iWeb Awards, where their web show has been nominated for ‘Best Comedy Web Show in the World’! Think they’re going to win? We know we’re pullin’ for ‘em! Tune in to watch all of their adventures on their trip, including some hair-raising skydiving and dealing with their arch rivals who try to sabotage them. We know that the iCarly crew is smarter than that! And there’s a special treat: Good Charlotte ends the night by performing a single from the soundtrack! We can’t wait to watch! Tune in tomorrow November 8th at 8:00 p.m. on Nickelodeon for all the action!
Another Premiere?!? 
Nov 7, 2008 Nickelodeon is also premiering a brand new show, “True Jackson, VP”, staring KeKe Palmer, tomorrow right after the premiere of “iGo to Japan”! This new series starring Keke Palmer is about a young girl – True Jackson – who scores the opportunity of a lifetime! While working and her no-fun job of selling sandwiches, True gets an on the spot job offer from the President of a major fashion label, to become the Vice President of the label’s youth division! Talk about being in the right place at the right time! She soon realizes it’s not so easy at the top! Now, not only does she have to deal with the usual stress of school, but she also has to deal with office politics and jealous co-workers! Wonder how she’s going to handle all of it?!? Guess you’ll just have to watch to find out what happens!

Britney on Stage Again!
Nov 6, 2008 Could it be? Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and Madonna all on the same stage? That’s what they’re saying! Tonight Madonna is performing at Dodger’s Stadium in Los Angeles and Britney and JT are scheduled to be there, too! Things are sure looking up for Britney! First, she’s making a comeback with her new CD “Circus”, and now, can we expect a tour?!? I sure hope so! We here at KEWL couldn’t have picked two better people to help Britney with her comeback! One of Britney’s biggest idols and mentors, and one of her longest friends, dating all the way back to the Mickey Mouse Club on the Disney Channel! Britney and Justin also toured together way back at the start of her career when Justin was still in N’Sync! We can’t wait to see how it turns out!
Going Solo?!? Nov 6,2008
Looks like we have more things to look forward to from the Cheetah Girls! The only thing is… It won’t be from the Cheetah group! Looks like Sabrina, Adrienne and Kiely are doing their own things! Oh no! Does this mean the end of the Cheetah girls?!? Sabrina says, no silly! They all want to have their own solo careers along with the Cheetah girls. Thank Goodness! We were getting a little worried! Sabrina did mention that she is in the midst of working on her solo album, but her main focus right now is still on the Cheetah Girls. They have their “One World” tour coming up and she says it’s going to be bigger and better than ever! We’re looking forward to all that is to come from the Cheetah Girls!

Selena Gomez is a workin’ woman! She already has her own TV show and a movie on the way, but now she’s decided to start her own production company, good for you Selena! She’s decided to name her new business “July Moon Productions”, I wonder where she got that name? She had to team up with another production company for some help, but she has full access to running her business her way! “July Moon Productions” has already released information that they have two movies in the making, and who did they get to star in them you may ask? Well, Selena herself of course, we can hardly wait! With her new movie “Wizards of Waverly Place” and 2 MORE movies in the making, Selena has no where to go but up, talk about exciting! Today is Kevin Jonas’ big 21st birthday! With so much stuff going on with the Jonas’ brothers right now, who knows how he plans to celebrate?!? If he needs a hand, I’m sure all of us would love to help him celebrate! The boys have a holiday CD coming out called “All Wrapped Up 2008”, which also features holiday songs from your other fave Disney artists like Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Plain White Ts and Aly & AJ. They are also set to star in the movie “Walter the Farting Dog” - it sounds a little smelly, doesn’t it?! “Walter the Farting Dog” is based on a children’s book about… a farting dog, of course! The boys will play three brothers in a band (surprise!) who are helping to take care of their aunt’s ‘unique’ dog! Today millions of people will be going out to cast their vote for the next President of the United States! If you're not old enough to vote, it doesn't mean that you don't have a say! There's plenty that you can do! Encourage your friends and family members that are old enough, to get to the polls today! You can encourage them to go to different news sources – internet or news papers – to get educated before they decide who to vote for! Have your voice be heard, even if it's not at the voting booth!
Casting All Fans of HSM3
Nov 4, 2008 "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" is re-casting the lead roles for the re-release of the movie this Friday. A fresh new version of the movie with fresh new talents...who are these new and incredibly talented people you ask? You, of course! HSM 3 will be releasing a new version of the movie this Friday in theaters, only this time, you'll be able to sing along with the cast! There will now be lyrics at the bottom of the screen so that movie goers will be able to sing a long with the entire cast! Whether this is your time to perform your big solo or you want to pretend you're Gabriella and sing a duet with Troy, all of your High School Musical dreams are about to come true! Help Raise Awareness With Nick!
Nov 3, 2008 This past Saturday, Nick Jonas joined a huge crowd at Dodger Stadium for the JDRF Diabetes walk! Nick himself was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes back in 2005 and has been trying to raise awareness ever since! When Nick showed up, the girls went wild as he thanked everyone for contributing the time and money for the cause! He then headed inside the stadium where he and a few select fans took a lap around the stadium! Unfortunately Nick couldn’t stick around for the entire event because he had a lot of other things he had to do, but the event was extremely successful and everyone had a great time! Katy Perry celebrated her 24th birthday last week! In the spirit of Halloween, her birthday party was, of course, death themed! She asked that her guests come as their favorite celebrity who has passed away! Katy Dressed up as Freddie Mercury from the ’70’s rock group Queen!
